ON-LINE VERSION NOW AVAILABLE (See Below)

As a representative of the American Chemical Society’s Committee on Analytical Reagents, we are pleased to announce the availability of the new 10th Edition of the ACS Specifications and Procedures for Reagent Chemicals. For those who are not familiar with this book, it is used for the preparation of analytical standards for a variety of applications including instrument calibration, quality control, analyte identification, method performance and other applications requiring high purity materials. Some of the improvements in the 10th Edition include the addition of general physical properties and analytical uses for over 500 reagent chemicals. Thirty-two new reagents and three new classes of standard grade reference materials are also introduced in this edition. And for the first time, the use of Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) is now accepted and approved as an analytical technique for carrying out ultratrace metal determinations. Other features include a CAS number index, a separate index for standard grade reference materials, updated atomic weights, frequently used mathematical equations, complete assay calculations with titer values, a tutorial on how to read a monograph, and detailed tables of contents introducing each section.
